Looking for a mid range (cheap) PCI express card primary for gaming but not wanting top of the break the bank range any suggestions. Generally play HL1, CS but would like to move upto HL2 and CS: source

eVGA GeForce 7600GS

great card for the money.....based off of the 7600GT, the GS is an underclocked version that gives slightly less preformance, but a large drop in price. Also with the 7 series you get the dynamic lighting for the Source engine

Still a decent card, with the hydro dynamic lighting, i dont think that you should go any cheaper than this if you want to eventually play the source engine games

Cheers looks a good one and in the price range, never used Nvida before always stuck to ATI but current pc has the nvidia 6100 chipset in so thought better to grow with nvida. Performance seems good with the expection the screen is far too bright and changing setting seems to do no better

If I said that Nvidia will run clock for clock, better than an ATI, then I would be lying. I have had a really good experience with Nvidia, rather than ATI.
