Default Work station

Ciao a tutti,
stavo pensando di costruire un computer, ho abbastanza esperienza ma
non sono molto aggiornato.
Devo farci girare pricinipalmente linux e altri sistemi *nix.
Pensavo ad un AMD Athlon64 X2 4800+ Brisbane.
Un altra cosa importante e' che non gioco a videogiochi, ma in un
futuro potrei voler mettere una scheda grafica
carina, magari se integrata che sia supportata e che sia decente
almeno quanto quella integrata sul macbook che immagino non sia nulla
di speciale ( ma sotto ubuntu e beryil funzionava benone).
I consumi non sono assolutamente un problema.
Sapreste consigliarmi una scheda madre che abbia le seguenti
caratteristiche ?

-Ethernet (possibilmente due)
-Firewire (400 va bene)
-SATA2
-RAID (hardware, non software o ibrido)
-Audio integrato
-Ottimo supporto driver open
-Video integrato uguale o migliore di Intel GMA 950

Poi la vorrei di una marca abbastanza affidabile, non so se gigabyte,
asus abit o che cosa.
Poi ram vorrei mettere tra 2 o 4 giga, e ho visto diverse frequenze ..
immagino sia il caso di andare migliore prezzo/prestazioni ? Cioe di
solito prendo tipo crucial, almeno per i laptop.
