Hey folks: I just got an Intel D865GRH motherboard and the SATA controller is not showing up in the OS. I don't have any devices attached to it so I wonder if that is why? Anyone know? | ||

It should show up under the EIDE devices. You should have 2 Primary IDE channels, and 2 Secondary IDE channels listed in Device Manager under the IDE ATA/ATAPI controllers section. You should also see two Intel Ultra ATA controllers listed there. The second entry for each of the three categories would be the SATA controllers. They are considered as ATA/EIDE devices, so you don't need any special drivers to use the SATA drives under Windows. If you want to use a RAID config, then you would still need the RAID driver, though.
