Anyone using Gigabit here? Any difference at home? Does it really make that much of a difference? Are your devices too slow to take advantage? i want to know...

well, if you dont have gigabit ethernet, then you have 100mb, so you wouldnt be able to take advantage of it

seriously, for home use, you hit the nail right on the head.... i think mines 5 MB and its totally overkill

the only reason that GBe was introduced into the market is for large networks, or for running mass ammounts of cable to residential areas, GBe in the home wont be a "normal" or "average" thing for probably 5 more years

I think gigabyte speed are being used in internet cafes. With an average ranging from 25-50 computers connected into one network provider, then gigabyte can be used. But if its for home use only, I think that is way too high and you are just paying so much for the services that you might use at all. But anyway that depends on what you are doing online.

again, what are you talking about!

or....gigabyte can be used with as little as 1 computer, as a matter of a fact you will notice a higher percentage of gain with a single node, rather than having 25-50...

"its way too high"....im assuming that you mean the speed of GBe.....my response to this is what is the down side of transfering 100 GB of data 10 times faster than on a 10/100 baseT network.......

secondly, i wasnt aware that GBe was a "service"...

*please get your thoughs straight before posting, and dont post opinions as fact*
