sure, for the benefits lOOk ^^.....how to set it up, basically assuming you have wireless, which is what it seems like you want, you plug your high speed internet modem into your router and then send out that signal via CAT5, CAT5e or CAT6 (there is no noticable difference), and then the notebook will be wireless, if you want to encrypt your network, start an encryption thread and i will be glad to help you out

Thank you so much for sharing your knowledge. My brother is considering this option to share the printer between his notebook and my PC.

Creating a home network is easy task but the speed of the net depend on the connectio of ISP,And you should have atleast a router to connect your inside network to WAN

I don't know wether u want to share your files and devices of your 2 computers or share the internet. If you just want files and devices sharing, a
wire can work with more than 100KB/S to copy your data and all the devices including printer,scanner,cd-rom etc can be shared at the sametime. But if u want to share the internet,u can buy a router or switch and some wires to build a simple LAN,then install a kind of software for network sharing .Of course, wirless is a good choice if it is possible, but should cost more.

yes With help of Lan connectivity you would have more advantages like printing, sharing files, sharing internet, remote desktop many more.
You can chose either wired or wirelss network.
In wired u need a switch (for multiple computer) or for two computer connectivity you just need one cross cable nothing else.
In wireless you have to need one wireless router and wireless lan cards....
