| I had a GlobalWin FSP82 mounted onto my XP2400 for quite some time. This setup gave me a temp of 53degC. Today I went and picked up the Thermalright SLK-800. The first installation attempt gave me a temp of 49degC, using Arctic Silver paste. I removed it and got some nailpolish remover to take off the thin layer of glue which was left behind when I removed the small piece of plastic from the mounting surface. Reinstalled the heatsink with the paste that came with the heatsink.......43degC. =o) ------------------------- Just another Democratic Slave NO more Corporate Government | |||

| All these temps are worthless. Are you referring to internal or external temps? And what is the case temp? And is that 100% loaded or just light loading? | To answer your questions..... The CPU fan I'm using is only a 3000RPM fan which I grabed off of the FSP82 combo which I was using. I'm not interested in turning my system into a jet engine airplane...I like things quite. The CPU temp. of 43degC is not at full load. The board's temp. is between 28-33degC ( no airconditioning so it's kind of warm in the house ). I do think that this temp. is kind of warm...I guess I got unlucky and got one from an old batch. My old XP2100 was running @ around 46degC with the FSP82 that I was using. The way I see it, as long as it stays below 50 I'm a happy camper. I posted the initial message just to let people know that the SLK800 makes as big a difference as the reviews say it does. I think the only way they can improve it is by making it out of gold....not likely....who would buy it? =o) ------------------------- Just another Democratic Slave NO more Corporate Government "Ed" <nomail@hotmail.com> wrote in message news:cs5hivcdfpdma7nj0avlc84ebmabpq3415@4ax.com... > what about room temp?
