Default OT but I know u guys are clever =) ATA Access problem

HELP REQUIRED

Well here's the story
I have a Maxtor ATA 133 harddrive but when I boot up and see that black
screen its classing it as a ATA 33. This is realy doing my head in cus the
HD seems so slow. I have a Jetway V266B motherboard, prolly the worst
motherboard in existance I know =( -- but I just cant get it to use a ATA
133 access mode, cant see any options in bios. The HD is set as primary
master and is on its own in that ribbon.
PS this motherboard does have ATA 133 - says so on the box =) Ive tried to
get to Jetways site but the pages wont load up, so I cant update bios or
anything =(
So my question is how do I get the motherboard to use ATA 133.
Apollogies for using this newsgroup but I used to frequent it alot and know
u guys know your stuff =)

If you are using 40 conductor ribbon cable then most boards only see the HD
as ATA33. With 80 conductor ribbon cable they usually work - mine does on
my Jetway.

Have you tried another 80 conductor cable?

i had exactly the same problem a couple of weeks ago with the same board
(except mine was running at ata100).
i ended up e-mailing jetway and they kindly sent me a new bios which isnt
available for download. reason being is that thay removed the ata133
facility because of compatability problems.
i flashed my bios with it and its working just great now.

you want me to mail you the flash file ?

BTW - not neccesarily the worst board in existance, look at this -
