| But I did not expect this. MSI K7N2 Delta L MS-6570 mainboard Vantec copper HSF (the 6800rpm one) 2 x 256 PC3200 Geil mem WinXP pro SP1 (this OS rocks) I built this last night and today I decided to overclock a little. Moved the multiplier up from 11 to 12 and left the vcore at 1.65 with no problem. Temp stayed at 30 C. So I tried 9.5 x 200 (except I picked 10.5 by mistake). So here I am posting this at 10.5 x 200 and a vcore of 1.65 and a temp of 30 C and no problems. WTF is going on, Sandra tells me I have an XP3000 and I haven't even bumped the vcore yet. I'm not sure yet if its rock solid, but I ran 3Dmark2001SE just fine. I am a very happy guy. My new case looks nice also (it has the window side with a glowing fan in the middle). | |||

I would expect most of the t'bred b and bartons to do 2.1GHz without problems, but at a higher temperature than you have. Ben -- I'm not just a number. To many, I'm known as a string...

My 2500 is at 12.5 x 167 So I'm currently 2.08Ghz I'm using a GlobalWIn cooler, which is almost Silent with a 80mm fan (very nice) - at about 3200RPMs. My current temp is 56c My case is an ANTEC 1101SX (standard big-ass case, sold by 5 other companies) with 2 antec cooling fans in the back. AFAIK - anything under 60c is fine... since 90c is a blow out for these CPUs. I have some HSF quesions which I will post. -- Remember when real men used Real computers!? When 512K of video RAM was a lot! Death to Palladium & WPA!!
