Default Using a BT access point

Greetings,

I am wondering if it would be beneficial to use a BT access point in my
network instead of all these little USB BT adapters? I have seen refurb BT
AP for as low as $89 USD. If I use an access point how would that effect
something like synching a phone to a PC?

Thanks
TC

BT Access points implement LAN Access profiles, but few implement other
profiles. Mobile phone sync with a PC uses the Serial profile, non-existing
in AP in general.
