| Belkin has two bluetooth usb devices, a F8T003 that says it will go 10 meters, and a F8T001 that says it will go 100 meters and has a little antennae. Will my Ti68 bluetooth phone and Belkin Compact Flash for my PDA reach the pc at 100 meters or only 10 meters? If it will only reach 10 meters then why does belkin advertise that 100 meter distance? --Cameron | |||

| So it does not go as far as the srongest device, but only the distance of the sortest? That stinks. I can buy another CF bluetooth card for my PDA that is a Class 1 (100M range) for about $100. Too bad i didnt realize there was class 1 and 2 devices a while back. The Ti68 phone is definitly only a 10meter device. I was just hoping that it would reach the distance of the strongest device. --C "Tony Clark" <waclark@mindspring.com> wrote in message news:bdtp6g$iq4$1@slb9.atl.mindspring.net... > There are 2 types of BT adapters Class 1 and 2. | Yup, you're pretty much restricted to the least powerful device. You may get a little more out of it if you have a clear line of sight with nothing in-between to interfere with the signal. Chances are the 100m transmitter will reach the 10m receiver but not vice-versa. | Ive found some posts by people on here and in other forums saying that they have a 100m USB dongle and a 10m device in their PDA or phone and it goes the full 100meters! Who knows if they are true or not though. --C "Tony Clark" <waclark@mindspring.com> wrote in message news:bdttrv$l9o$1@slb0.atl.mindspring.net... > Yup, you're pretty much restricted to the least powerful device. | Think about it. You have a device "A" that's 100m and another "B" that's 10m. "A" can send as far 100m, but "B" can send only 10m. Unless all the data traffic goes from "A" to "B" (and we know that there MUST be 2 way traffic for the whole scheme to work)..... | The way other people that "say" they have that exact setup and that it works is, device B can only send its signal 10 meters, but device A not only can send 100 meters but it can also listen 100 meters. So 10 meters out from device B which is say 60 meters away from device A, is still well within the listening range of A. I maybe purchase the 100meter Belkin deivce from compusa and try it out. If it doesnt work I can always take it right back :-) --C "Edward S" <i.am@interlog.com> wrote in message news:lGLMa.43114$az.11997@news.primus.ca... > Think about it.
