Help on Setting up a Bluetooth LAN

I am looking for help and advice on setting up a bluetooth LAN at
home.

Currently I have a 3com pcmcia card (3crwb6096) currently in laptop, i
know now that it is not the recommended one cos it doesnt support LAP
but its too late for me now. I also have a Windigo USB dongle for my
desktop.
I would like my desktop PC to serve the internet via ICS and be able
to access the internet on the laptop. How would i go about setting
this up? I was told by 3com customer support that i would need a LAN
Access Point. Is this the case? Then which one would you recommend?

If you have two TDK adapters -- one bluetooth USB dongle in the desktop
(e.g., the computer connected to the internet via broadband cable) and a TDK
PC Card in the laptop, can you access the internet from the laptop via
bluetooth?

I was going to install a wireless hub to my cable modem, but since I already
have the bluetooth card for my laptop, it would be more convenient to just
add a USB Bluetooth dongle to the desktop, if it will allow me to access the
internet at high speed through my laptop.

Wow. Thanks for the reply! One more question -- if my desktop is hooked to
a printer via a parallel port, does the TDK bluetooth allow me to spool a
document to that printer from my laptop? It would be nice to just print
from my laptop to the printer which is hooked to my desktop without
disconnecting wires.

I haven't tried that - because all my machines have Sharing folders and
printer disabled... I can't see why not, but it's an ICS sharing, and ICS is
quite fussy sometimes...

Got it all working. Found the instructions on mapping the printer on TDK's
FAQ
(http://www.tdksystems.com/support/fa....metafaq.com/f
aq/tdksys/bluetooth). You need to have the BT 'Network' enabled before you
map the printer, and I had to experiment a bit with the ICS configuration,
but it now works like a charm. Thank you VERY much for your
answers/support!
