Smile Help connecting old laptop hard drive...

Hi there!

New to all this, hope to help out aswell as to be helped

I have a hard drive that I had for my laptop until it broke, now I have a desktop and was wondering the cheapest/easiest way to gain access to my old hard drive.

A friend spoke about simply connecting it up to my usb port with some kind of an adaptor. But i was wondering about where I could get such a lead, and whether the power supply would be enough?

Any ideas? Thanks!
Neil

the hard drive out of your laptop is a small one?

there is a number of ways you could do it:

1: Use it as an extra hard drive in a pc and get a IDE adapter.
2: get a IDE adapter and just conect it as a temp.
3: get a usb to IDE I am sure these are now out.

are you in the uk?
