| Regarding Mapsource products, can I upload both the Topo maps and Metroguide? Or can a region only have one type of map uploaded for that area? I have the TOPO maps, but am thinking about getting the Metroguide too. Also, how can I load all of the TOPO cd's to my harddrive so I don't need to carry around the cd's? Thanks | |||

Correct. > Or can a region only have one type of map uploaded for that No, but more accurate maps take precedence over less accurate maps. Basemap is overidden by Worldmap, then comes R&R, then MG, then CS/CN. Where Topo comes I don;t know, but I guess between R&R and MG or at the same level as R&R. But you can always disable more accurate maps to display others. -- Robert Elsinga =8-) e-mail: robert (at) elsinga.org/elsinga.net Personal website: www.elsinga.org, Home @ N 52"55.812', E 05"51.509' Voice: +31 871 90 11 11 (EUR 0,41/min), fax2mail: +31 842 22 76 82 | |||

B MapSource manual (dated 8/27/03) on their site today and on P40 use the example of overlapping Topo and R&R maps (R&R has precedence they say). They also go on to say that to use a specific map in your GPS you simply disable any other (overlapping) maps you may have loaded. | Thanks everyone, your solutions worked. I used the tweak the registry method to use the HD versus the CD. Too bad the maps aren't transparent and overlap, but maybe it's better since the screen would get very clutered.
