Default Newbie - GPS

Hi NG

I have got a number of trucks that distributes parcels - In order to be able
to make a good ruteplanning based on historical delivery points, I need to
know where the parcels have been delivered - therefore I want to log the
position every time the truck stops, and then convert it into addresses
later on.

Therefore I need a GPS, that can registrate whenever a truck is at the same
position for for example more than 30 seconds. Can anyone tell me what to
buy

Best Regards
TT

If you want to just track the routes and then use the data to determine the
stopped time at any location - i.e look back at the tracklog to see all of
the places the truck has driven and then identify those places it has
stopped for more than 1 minute (be careful due to traffic jams you don't
misinterpret the stop), then a simple combined antenna/datalogger would be
just the thing.

At the end of the day you could download the information to a PC for
analysis.

Typical datalogger is a small magnetic based combined antenna/receiver that
sits on the outside of the vehicle and is powered from the van.

A so called Black Box could be a solution for you. Can register and
transmit almost any kind of information to almost any place (PC, PDA,
laptop, cell phone) you want. Engine hours, driving hours, use of pto,
doors etc. Extreme accelleration/decelleration etc.
