| Hi, Unfortunately the System page only shows: GPS - Normal / Battery Save / Demo / Off Compass - On / Off Altimeter - Auto Cal On / Auto Cal Off Pressure - ... / ... Language - English / Deutsch / etc. The owner manual does not contain the word NiMH. Just wait until Garmin releases firmware that knows about the battery type. Thx for the responses, Bert. | |||

| Hi, The latest software update for the Etrex Summit is revision 2.50, applies ok, shows that it's version 2.50 but that one does not have the option to specifiy your battery type. Regards, Bert. > Bert Onderdijk wrote: > > > > Hi, > > > > Unfortunately the System page only shows: > > GPS - Normal / Battery Save / Demo / Off > > Compass - On / Off > > Altimeter - Auto Cal On / Auto Cal Off > > Pressure - ... / ... > > Language - English / Deutsch / etc. > > > > The owner manual does not contain the word NiMH. > > > > Just wait until Garmin releases firmware that knows about the battery type. > > > > Thx for the responses, > > > > Bert. > > Go to http://www.garmin.com/support/download.jsp and > download the latest software update. | It looks like every version of the eTrex family has a software update except the basic eTrex, which is still on v 2.14.
