| I'm attempting to upload waypoints and routes from MapSend to the Meridian by way of the Secure Digital card. When attempting to "load WP/route" from card utilities menu, I get the error message "There are no data files." Going to the DELETE FILES option on the card utilities reveals that the ..img, .rgn, .trk, and .wpt files which I copied to the SD card are there. This assumes that transferring routes and waypoints created inside MapSend to the Meridian by the SD card is possible. Must that be done only via the serial cable? | |||

So you can not transfer the files directly to the SD card and then load them into the GPS. You have to tranfer them via the serial/usb cable and then save the files in the GPS to the SD card. Just try to look at the files with a text editor like Notepad in Windows. You will se that the contents in the files made by MapSend or other programs are pretty straight forward and readable, but the files made by the GPS is diffrent and not readable. Hope there will be a converter for these files soon. I also would like to use the cardreader to take backup of those files. | Note - You can use GPSBabel to translate between the Meridian SD card and Mapsend formats. -Skramblr "Øyvind Steinnes" <f0nix@i.am> wrote in message news:jWvZa.12556$os2.184121@news2.e.nsc.no... > > "Eldon Thrush" <e_thrush@yahoo.com> wrote in message > news:4OtZa.176071$xg5.138176@twister.austin.rr.com ... > > I'm attempting to upload waypoints and routes from MapSend to the Meridian > > by way of the Secure Digital card. > > > The waypoints files generated in MapSend or any other programs is in another > format than the files generated in GPS. > So you can not transfer the files directly to the SD card and then load them > into the GPS.
