You can turn off the basemap, but it sounds like your real question is whether you can load a new French basemap. The closest thing would be to load the appropriate sections of the WorldMap, but this is getting rather dated. It would still be much better than no map at all and would cover a much larger area in the III+ limited (1.4 MB) memory than the more detailed maps like Roads & Rec - Europe. | |||
