Default Creating TomTom Overlays

I have TomTom Route Planner and an iPqa 3870 with a GPS receiver and work at
hundreds of locations throughout Yorkshire.

All of the sites are listed along with their ordnance survey grid references
and is easy to create an individual point and save it to a new/existing
overlay but TomTom only offer this on an individual plot, name and save
basis and would take forever.

Has anyone created overlays from an Excel list and saved as *.ovr file or
offer any help in tackling the problem.

Regards

John

WinOV2 is what you need, http://www.pocketgps.co.uk/downloads/WinOV2.zip.
This superb util (written by one of our readers) allows you to export OV2
files to a .txt file and vice versa. The help file details the correct
format for this (WGS84, Lat/Lon).

Darren

Thanks for that, however TomTom Route Planner is using POI file suffix *.ovr
all of the editors and converters appear to be talking Navigator *.ov2
suffix, any help?

John

I hadn't appreciated that Route Planner used .ovr, sorry! Have you tried
the editor anyway in case the file format's are the same? Failing that if
you post a message in our forum the app's developer may be able to throw
some light on this?

John, done some more digging, take a look at
http://www.tomtom.com/products/platf...&Extra_Page=20
which has some .ovr converters.
