Well d'oh! It'll work (or should) in the UK, it's a front end to the MS Mappoint software, of which there is a European version, if he has included an option to identify that too. He's been on MP3car.com (which has free volunteer projects that provide so much more) asking for beta test volunteers to. My advice, if you are planning something like this, check out MP3car.com, and look for Frodoplayer, Centrafuse, Mediacar, and Mediaengine amongst others.
