I'd probably suggest looking at changer Sony or mid-level Kenwoods, as
both can be interfaced to steering remotes and dash display (if you've
got either).

Thanks for the info.
The JVC looks good and the specs seem good to be what I'm after but is
it? (ok I know it's gotta be better than the Blaupunkt CD that's in
there at the moment)
As to the hard drive I like the idea of the hard drive based system
but I was trying to steer away from the CD changer style of player
(lots of pulling up carpet and trim) and just do a straight swap for
the factory fitted CD player for an MP3 one.
Thanks.

You don't say what model/year of Corsa you have but be weary that if you
have Steering Wheel controls / Remote Display these will need adaptors (and
a suitable headunit) to work....

I can only quote 'street' prices (after all, I work on the 'street') but the
Sony CDX-3300MP3 is a nice unit, simple to use and seems to be well built
(we've not had any back yet, put it that way). This unit would also offer
the option of adding the steering/display adaptors if your car requires 'em.

The unit is £169.99 and includes fitting.

Cheers!
James

Thanks James,
It's a 1994 M reg CDX so no steering controls (none planned) and I
believe the display on the dash will keep the time and temp just loose
the date when a non Vauxhall unit is fitted and switched on (at least
that's what happened in my mates Astra when he fitted a Mini Disc
player), so no real loss, the Sony unit looks ok not sure about the
display though (could it be difficult to read? I did a Google search
found it at http://www.ukaudioshop.com for £124 is this because it's
an old model? not that that matters, any idea how it rates against the
JVC quoted earlier? I'd rather have sound quality/build quality over
flashy looks any day, having said that looking on the above mentioned
site the Sony CDXF5700 looks like the display is larger, I know it's
just outside my budget but what the wife don't know won't hurt her :0)
would it be worth the extra cash?
Ford.
