Default Sony headunit in a Mk6 Fiesta?

Has anyone replaced the standard CD player (in 3 segments) in a Fiesta
Mk6 (2002 onwards) with an aftermarket headunit (e.g. Sony MP30?)

Ford seem to think this can't be done, but Autoleads sell a fascia
adaptor, which they claim requires you to 'cut out' the struts in
between the 3 segments!!!

Any advice welcome...

Andy

This might help Car Stereo Fitting | Car Stereo Removal | Remove Car Stereo Advice | Fit Car Stereo Help

You may need to cut the fascia slightly.
