installation

Want to rekit my new shape (2001) Ford Mondeo estate (don't laugh:
kids!)

From my old car I have 2 pairs of decent 6x9's, an Alpine 4+1 amp, 12"
JBL sub-box. Plan to add Alpine 9812 MP3 player.

So how much for installation (ie 4 speakers, amp, wiring)?

A national chain (not Halfords) quoted me a days labour (240 + VAT) (+
cables)

Seems a bloody rip off to me - what's the going rate?

Any decent independent installers aroun Derby??

Fair enough - if its a days work and thats the going rate.

It just sounded a lot to fork out in one go - especially as some
tosser tried to screwdriver my drivers door tonight. At least they
didn't get in.

And that was with a Ford 6000 unit in....

Maybe an Alpine isn't such a good idea?
