Cellphone Games

Are cellphones that can play games can be considered as handheld game consoles?

Here in the Philippines, DS and PSP is not so common but when it comes to cellphone games, there's a lot!

I don’t see why not they are hand held and can play games also more and more games are coming 9out for the cell phone so yes, but would you call them a cell phone or a conphone lol

Phones these days are getting more and more popular as they have been for a long time also the technology is just going crazy on the cell phone these days, like being able to have memory cards in them and being able to have windows on them also they have made one that has TV but it costs a lot to buy.

But as for the TV on your phone I think it is getting a little over the top for what there doing, but as we all know people will buy them because people just want to be up to date on there technology.

Exactly, people would love to boast their latest gadget and they will buy it watever the cost is, sometimes even going for the wrong did just to have that new technology.

Cellphones can even browse the internet and can also download pictures, movies, musics, and most especially games for me!

most video games require something to be in your hand

I think they can be considered handheld games by their nature...

Sometimes, more so if the games are more enjoyable than the console games! Unless I see TextTwist on the Xbox, I can't be proven wrong!

TV by phone is sweet, I can watch TV in class (if i had TV on my phone)....

Anyway phone games are handheld its just they share the same system, called "cellphone"

By its nature a mobile phone is not a handheld game console. It is primarily a communication device. It has evolved to cater to people's demands and now has Java games designed specifically for a mobile phone. Like a desktop computer which is not classified as a game console.

That's quite a thought. But the Nokia N-Gage can be classified as a handheld game, though.

Having said those, I might take it back: mobile phones aren't handhelds - they're just cool gadgets with gaming capability.
