I see you are a conclusion jumping smartarse. This is the chip I want. I have all three of the current generation consoles and do not have a single pirated game for any of them. Between the three of them, I currently have 43 original games. Never mind all the *originals* I have for the GBA, PS1, DC, SNES etc. In fact, when this chip becomes available, I intend to buy another XBox, chip it and use it for MAME, SNES, TV Recorder, copy my games to hard disk, arse about with Linux etc. I have absolutely zero interest in using it for pirate XBox games. [1] [1] Although clearly I understand that the emulation elements I intend to use it for are potentially illegal. And if you'd bothered to Google for my previous postings on the subject of chipping, before being an accusatory ****, you would know all this. -- FatHippy 'Poking death in the face with a big stick and then running away' (To reply by e-mail, please replace {$spamtrap$} with fathippy) Name: Fats Town: Bauhaus

Ooooooh... I just wondered what you wanted the *new* chip for that the current generation of chips doesn't do. As far as I know, you can do all of what you mentioned above with the chips on the market at present - and at a reasonable price. ...and as for searching Google for postings from you before - all I could find were 372,123 posts regarding OT threads... ....****... -- Gorf

So you made an assumption about the chip itself and then jumped to a conclusion about what I wanted it for, is what you are saying. It will essentially "do" what the existing chips do. However, it will do it in a "nicer" way like the DMS3 chip for the PS2 does. In the case of the XBit chip for the XBox, it allows flashing via the XBox USB port via a supplied cable, and the modchip would appear to be very competitively priced compared to an Executor with pogo-pin attachment. > ...and as for searching Google for postings from you >before - all I could find were 372,123 posts regarding OT threads... >...****... > Given that unless you are a modchip seller, the thread was clearly not aimed at you, if you are going to respond to it and make a comment, then asking what I wanted it for might have been more appropriate. Making an inference that I wanted it for pirate XBox software was innapropriate and guaranteed to get my back up. I apologise for my hostile response to your post, but I am sick and tired of people assuming that everyone that wants to chip their consoles, wants it for piracy reasons. I am just about to chip my PS2 with a DMS 3 for instance. Is it for piracy ? No ! It is so that I can import USA RPG's that are not getting a UK release and play them. Yet again, I have chosen the DMS3 because it is flashable via a CD, and currently the best chip solution available. -- FatHippy 'Poking death in the face with a big stick and then running away' (To reply by e-mail, please replace {$spamtrap$} with fathippy) Name: Fats Town: Bauhaus

| I hate to just chip in, but I too have a chipped box (xecutor 2.1) which I got purely so I could play original xbox games, and also my mp3's in my living room (all legally ripped from originals so I can have them on my creative jukebox, although that'll be illegal too if the cactus etc. CD protection brigade have their way) and I don't own a single pirated game, much as my friends berate my stupidly altruistic attitude, and think I should just download them on the ol' emule. I know it's still an abuse of M$ loss leader to use their box to play my mp3's, and not some M$ friendly wma's, but I can certainly live with my conscience on that point ;-) > >> >> Any of you modchip retailers have any idea when you will actually have > >> >> the DMS Xbit modchip in stock please ? > >> >> > >> >> It was supposed to be the start of July, but the date seems to have > >> >> slipped somewhat, and I can find no definite dates anywhere I've > >looked. > >> > > >> >...and you can't get those downloaded ISO's to work with 'older' chips? > >> > > >> Ah ! At the risk of you spitting feathers at me....if you consider yourself useless with a soldering iron, you might want to get someone to fit your ps2 chip for you....they arent that ease for amateurs. I am a professional, and I have to take great care with them. | |||

Although trying to find someone in Northern Ireland who can do a good job of fitting them, at a reasonable price, is proving difficult. -- FatHippy 'Poking death in the face with a big stick and then running away' (To reply by e-mail, please replace {$spamtrap$} with fathippy) Name: Fats Town: Bauhaus
