| Hi all, I don't want to know any cheats in Halo 2, but I would like to know if it's common for others to use cheats when playing matches online via XBox Live. I'll admit I'm not the best at Halo 2, but I can hold my own in other first person games like UT2004 and MoH. When playing matches on Halo 2 though, either some of these guys are WAY too lucky, they have some major advantage, or they have cheats. Some head to head matches I play it's a slaughter, and these guys are doing what often seems almost impossible moves and shots. The only advantages I can think of is someone using a 16x9 HDTV television over the standard 4x3 (if that's even possible) to see more of the display. Or maybe using the keyboard/mouse adapter instead of the controller. I'm not sure, but it's obvious some folks have a leg-up. Or cheating, though I'd hate to assume this. Like I said, I'm not the best, I'll admit, but it's not like me to get zero frags... and it's happening way too often. I know i'm better then that! Thanks, Ringo | |||

| Cheats are possible with a mod-chip, but you can't use a modded box online (at least you can't have the chip turned on), so they aren't cheaters, they're just pros. Trust me, I have seen people do insane stuff, and I found out it was actually possible, like rocket jumping off a cliff in Coagulation and boarding my Banshee while I was like half the map away. That one got me mad On 12/8/04 4:45 PM, in article 1102545916.239910.208210@z14g2000cwz.googlegroups. com, "Ringo Langly" <rlangly@gmail.com> wrote: > Hi all, > > I don't want to know any cheats in Halo 2, but I would like to know if > it's common for others to use cheats when playing matches online via > XBox Live. | I'd have to agree I'm piled so much lead into a guy with dual guns and he kills me with a single pistol cheats are out there, they have to be -- RIPPPER | |||

| No, there definitely aren't. People have yet to invent a mod chip that you can play online with. All current mod chips must be turned off, or you're banned from Xbox Live forever when you go online. As to your example, if he uses cover right and keeps most of your shots missing, he could even regenerate shields during the battle and be essentially invulnerable. And a single pistol kills pretty fast if you get repeated headshots (I think four shots does it with normal health and damage). | In Response to Rees: Modchips aren't always for cheating and most of the time have no effect on the ability to cheat. Modchips usually enables you to play imports/divx/ etc..really has nothing to do with cheating. Cheating is through the use of intentional cheat codes or accidental game glitches and bugs. Why does everyone assume Modchips enable cheating? Remember PS1 modchips? It had nothing to do with cheating, it enabled to play backed up games on CD-R (which I am against. I'd rather have two copies of the original game if one was damaged or I'd return the damaged disc and try to contact the company for advice.) | |||

| With Halo, though, Modchips are the only way to cheat. I know they have many other uses, but there are some that let you cheat. There are no intentional cheat codes in Halo 2, and there are no glitches or bugs big enough to count as cheating in a multiplayer game.
