| OK, so you've turned the Library shield off and are heading to the next level, Quarantine Zone, through the Flood, Sentinels and those other huge things. You go through a few rooms (like the ones you came through at the start of the level), each with a piston you activate to get to the next one. Following so far? lol OK, so the very first room you have to get through is where I have little problems, the one where you hear Marine chatter over the radio. Basically, what's the best strategy for getting through this room? More often than not I die before I get to the exit piston, even on Easy (but then I'm a crap gamer!) My main problem is dealing with those "spawn" Flood - the big fat wobbly things that explode (why didn't they find better names for these things?Describing them is tricky!). As you get to the end of that room you are confronted by at least 5 of these things, and given that in Halo2 the Flood seem more lethal this time - it only takes 3 or 4 pops on your shield to kill you - it makes dealing with them even harder! The stealth camo is fine but doesn't last long and can easily be brought down by any Flood contact. Don't get me wrong, when dealing with the other Flood - human and Covenant infested versions - I'm fine. It's just dealing with these specific Flood at this specific spot on this specific level that's driving me nuts. I've managed to get through 3 times without dying on that spot! | First of all, there are names for the different types of Flood, it's just that they're only stated in the Halo books. The ones you're having trouble with are called Carrier Forms, or just Carriers for short. Carriers are easily dealt with by popping them from afar with a shot or two from pretty much any weapon. Just don't get close to them. To deal with them the best is to just run ahead of them or step back and try to melee them as they come. If you are going to use a weapon on them try the shot gun. It'll take at least 3 out if you're standing close enough and they're bunched together. -stu | |||

In general if you keep moving they have a harder time getting to you. If there aren't a lot of them, I'll generally let them pop on my shield to save ammo, then back up if there are more coming. The other advice about shooting them is good as well. If you're having trouble hitting them, the shotgun and SMG have a wide angle to their shots and may make them easier to hit. | |||
