Ranking in h2 when quitting

Does any know how ranking is affected by someone quitting a game? I have
been in so many matches where my teammates quit and I end up losing because
of it. Is it better to stay and lose or just quit because the game ends up
being unfair? Are these people being penalized for quitting or is it just
the people that stay and end up losing?

The best solution would be to simply get good enough that you can win
anyway.

Now can someone please answer the original question, which is how ranking is
effected by quitting. The person who quits should be penalized somehow.

It is negatively affected by quitting. It says so on Bungie.net. Read the
latest webmaster Q/A. I'm not aware of the specifics though.

Don't have live, but the info I'm seeing around the net is that quitters get
the "lowest score possible" based on the results of the game. That means
placing last, or if your team wins, last on the team.
