Cairo campaign level on solo legendary

Can anyone verify that it is possible to beat the Cairo level on solo
legendary? I am stuck in the second hangar bay and simply run out of
weapons.

Yes, I have done it. Be more ammo efficient- punch enemies and get
headshots. That's all I can say. Also, whenever possible, don't kill enemies
you don't have to.

I made it! Here's how (someone else may have a better technique):

First, when I loaded the checkpoint, I'd be standing in the hall. If I
went in the room and fought, then backed off to the previous hangar
bay, it would be cleaned up (few weapons and bodies). However, if I
turned and went immediately to the previous bay before fighting in the
second one, the previous bay would be full of weapons and bodies.

So after experimenting with numerous strategies, the one I found that
worked was, I went and scrounged every plasma pistol I could find and
made a pile in the hall. I had a total of 10 plasma pistols.

I went and got the extra battle rifle ammo and a few grenades from the
hall in the direction of the stairs to the catwalk in the second
hangar bay.

Then, I basically shot charged plasma shots followed by a BR burst. I
missed a lot, and also often shot the wrong guy. Additionally, I would
often get my shields blown off when I fired the charged shot, so I
couldn't capitalize. However, by being patient and playing
conservatively, I chipped them down until there was just one left, and
I got the next checkpoint, where the doors in the floorways open and
you are supposed to go find the bomb. At that point, the last elite in
the hangar bay stands with his back to you and is easy to kill.

I didn't have time to go through the next area, but it doesn't seem
too difficult with appropriate use of grenades.

So, take heart - it is possible - but it's a royal pain.

After around 4 1/2 hours of playing I finally beat that part. What I did was
save all the grenades I found in previous room (where the first boarding is
happening) and use them all with the best possible aiming. I found out that
I needed to get real close to the elites to stickem with plasma grenades
since in Legendary they are better at dodging grenades. The grunts can be
killed with just the assault rifle. U couldn't use the stationary plasma
machine guns upstairs because they throw me many plasma grenades. I also
make some of the elites with swords chase me to the next room and then
immediatly grabbed the stationary machine gun on the floor and kill them,
one at a time. I also used the sword to kill a couple of them, always trying
to stay covered and get them by surprise, and then run away for cover again.

That's how I could do it, if you have any comments or any tips to do it,
I'll be glad to see them posted here.
