Possible to use headset on system link play?

We just got Halo 2 and I was wondering if it's possible to use the
headsets when playing a system link game with friends when we get
together? I know that you can use the headset when playing on XBox
Live, but can you still use the headsets when playing a simple system
link game at home "offline"? Thanks.

Yep. All Xbox Live games that support the headset (in other words, all
XBL games) that have a system link mode also support the headset in
system link.

I've never played XBL, with the headset could you talk to your teammates and
the other team or just the other team mates? Does the other person have to
have the headset to hear you talk?

Depends on the game. I'm presuming you're talking Halo 2. In Halo 2,
you tap the white button to speak to your teammates. At all times,
however, ANYTHING you say can be heard by ANYBODY within "earshot"
proximity through their TV speakers. This adds a nice degree of realism
to it.

I don't know what your teammates hear if you try to use team
communication with them and they don't have a headset. I presume they'd
hear it through their speakers, but I don't know.
