| I like the music scores in all Halo missions, very atmospheric. But there's also something to be said for missions where there is no music, only the sounds of the environment can be heard. The Halo mission, for example, where you can hear birds etc. Later on in Assault on the Control Room, the sounds inside the structure as you move from one section to another are also well done and give it an eerie feeling. What do you think? Tim *watches the Halo 2 E3 trailer for the billionth time* | |||

| I like music better. I agree that the sounds of birds etc. are very atmospheric, but I prefer the sections with music. It sort of warns you that you're coming up to a hard part when the music starts up. | I lake a variation of that with the music low so I can still here more of the battle. At this point I now know where everything is going to happen so the music is pointless to me. | I know when everything is going to happen too, but it's still sort of ominous to hear the music, especially if you're playing in a dark room with a big-screen TV and surround sound. That's intense. | Halo 2 should have the common sense option to turn the MUSIC OFF or adjust music volume like practically all other Xbox / PC games thesedays ! I turn the music off on all games. In Halo the music dulls the sound of your weapons, the environment. etc. If you die plenty of times when playing on "Legendary" difficulty during a music scene/checkpoint then you hear the same music over and over again and it becomes nuisance-noise / brainwashing. No battle is ever the same...........but the music certainly is.......ad-nauseam. | You can adjust music volume in Halo! Just go to settings! Music volume starts at 6 and game volume at 10. If you don't like it, put music down to 0! I prefer scenes with music, although I do find it annoying to hear the same music twice when you die. I think it has the best score of all the games I know. The music gets really thrilling, when you are in a room and a lot of Covenent is trying to kill you. But I do agree that it would be a good idea, to add the option to turn the music off in Halo 2. Like you said, it can get annoying when you have to play the same checkpoint over and over again on "Legendary" difficulty. While we are on the subject: (though checkpoint where you died many times). What is you thoughest checkpoint? Mine is on T & R, where you are in the space ship at the big room, where the covenant ships fly out and there is covenant on the ground as well as on one floor above. After you killed most of the covenant, there are two hunters comming. This is where I died most times. Are there any tips for to survive that checkpoint??? I think this is a picture of that area: http://www.bungie.net/images/games/h...a50/a50_41.jpg So, What is your thoughest checkpoint??? - Sty - | |||

| The toughest checkpoint in my opinion is when you first get on board the Covenant Battle Cruiser in The Truth and Reconciliation, when tons of Covenant come from the four doors in the corners and surround you. It's almost impossible on Legendary. There are about 8 camouflaged sword Elites, and they'll very quickly kill you and the marines unless you stop them. You can jump up on the empty Wraith to be safe from them, but this puts you directly in the line of fire of all the other Covenant. The Camouflage helps a lot, but when it wears off if you're in a bad location you're dead. The Sniper Rifle is very useful there against the Elites and distant Jackals, and the Needler is also very helpful, although you can ignite too many Plasma Grenades with it and blow yourself up. For help on your checkpoint (in the Shuttle Bay), there are a lot of Covenant coming out of two different doors, but it's easy enough to take them out if you make use of all the cover on the side of the barrier you start on. The Sniper Rifle is good for taking out the Covenant on the second level. A Covenant dropship unloads more Covenant halfway through the battle, but a Pelican gives you extra Marines as well, so it's pretty much even. And the Hunters are very easy if you go melee with them. Just dodge their attack and shoot them in the back with the Sniper Rifle for an instant kill. Thanks for the help, but I don't have a sniper riffle at my checkpoint (sorry). I only have a plasma riffle. And I don't get any extra marines, maybe I did, but they died. I am not sure, since I have saved that checkpoint a time ago. I think I am already past "halfway". I will try to go melee on the Hunters. Any more tips, since I only have a plasma riffle. I also had trouble, when I first got on board on the T & R, but I did manage that after a while. I tried the to made it through the Shuttle bay for about some 8 hours or some... Of course I am talking about Legendary... - Sty - | |||

| First of all, I'll start with two spelling corrections. It's rifle, not riffle, and it's toughest, not thoughest. You made both mistakes at least twice. Anyway, now for the actual tips. Having only a Plasma Rifle on Legendary is a bad situation. What happened to your Sniper Rifle? Do you still have it but not any ammo, or did you drop it? If you dropped it on the Covenant Battle Cruiser, then go back and get it, even if it's empty. It's essential in future battles (such as the room where you find the Captain in Keyes and the Brig). You can get more ammo for it as you go. On board the ship, there's sniper ammo in the Muster Bay, the Shuttle Bay, and in a hallway shortly after the Shuttle Bay. If you dropped the Sniper Rifle on the ground, then the rest of the level is a lot harder. You may want to restart the level and keep it, as it helps a lot on board the ship. If you don't want to, which I wouldn't blame you for, then it's going to make the level harder, especially because there is no Pistol. I'd go for a Needler/Plasma Pistol combo in that situation. You can get both from dead Covenant in pretty much any area. Plasma Pistols are more common, but there are a fair amount of Needlers as well. Plasma Rifles, while good on Normal, are almost useless on Legendary. Kill whatever you can with it and grab whatever it drops, assuming it's not another Plasma Rifle. That should help a lot. Punching Hunters for a one-hit kill on Legendary is very difficult. You may want to pick up another Plasma Rifle when they come and blast them in the back with it from close range. With a Sniper Rifle it's much easier to kill them, but without it it's very difficult. You may even want an Assault Rifle for downing the Hunters, but drop it as soon as you're done. Plasma Grenades also work on them, but don't let them get too close when it goes off. It can take two or three to kill them. Throwing Fragmentation Grenades into the door they come out of can do some early damage to them. As for getting to the Hunters, just follow my tip on getting better weapons, and then wait for enemies on the second level to come down, since without Sniper Rifle it's very difficult to kill them. > Thanks for the help, but I don't have a sniper riffle at my checkpoint > (sorry).
