halo pc- saving the last checkpoint??

hi,

i've got halo on the pc. i'm on the 3rd level, where u land on the island.
but everytime i save the last checkpoint, and restart the game, i end up
back on the 2nd level. how? y? how can i make a proper save, so i dont loose
an hour of game everytime i play it?

i've also notices that my screen reslution and detail setting go back t
default as well.

the my game folder it makes is held in my documents. i've hidden this, so
should it make a difference??

I'm assuming you are running Windows 2000 or Windows XP.

If this is the case follow the next set of instructions.

Uninstall Halo And reinstall in the "program files" folder.

The default security settings for the "Documents and Settings" Folder
which is the parent of the "My Documents" Folder is set to high for most
programs to be able to function.

but it is already installed in the program files folder. thats the default
location.

could it be that its not saving bacause i haev the mygames folder hidden?

If you are saving them in the My Documents folder I think that is the
problem.

Yes, unhide the folder!

The level where you land on the island is actually the fourth level. With
that cleared up, you shouldn't load your game from the 'load' menu in
Campaign. Instead, go into Campaign and hit Continue. Note that this will
only work if the last time you played was on the island level (The Silent
Cartographer).

See, this is why I have a console to play games on and a pc to work on I
just cannot imagine sitting at my pc playing Halo even if it was up to
specs, which is isn't.

hey
i think to do what u want to do when u beat the 3rd level play a little
of the 4th so that u get to at least a check point that should solve you
problem
