| "Shannon" <shannon0104@comcast.net> wrote in message news > For some reason my computer will not share the internet anymore. When I try to get on x-box live it can't find an IP address and it's set up to do it automatically. It says no dns server addresses were received from the dhcp or pppoe server. Enter the dns server provided by your isp in the network settings menu. I called xbox live and they said it was a networking issue but I can't figure it out. Can anyone help??? First thing to check is the PC that supplies the Internet connection, is it doing it's job?, have you made any changes to it, Second check the cabling from the PC to the Xbox, is it OK? Lastly try setting the Xbox to manaul configuration and enter the following details (this happened to my machine and this fixed it) IP Address (assuming your using Windows Own ICS) 192.168.0.55 Subnet mask 255.255.255.0 Default gateway 192.168.0.1 DNS server, here you can use the Default Gateway setting of 192.168.0.1 or if your running Win98 then click Start-Run type WINIPCFG click the more details tab and look for DNS at the top. This also works on WinME, For XP and 2K click Start-Run type cmd in the black box type ipconfig /all, again look for DNS, I know that NTL have 194.168.4.100, and 194.168.8.100 as DNS If your not using Windows ICS then post back and let us know your setup.
