| I have been experiencing these problems for a long period of time. Sometimes when I play Rainbow Six 3 I can't hear some of the players or some of the players can't hear me when in a server of more than 8 players. On Project Gotham Racing 2, I cannot join a server with more than 3 players otherwise I get disconnected. I cannot host a server with more than 3 players because anyone else that joins in gets disconnected. Yesterday I bypassed my MN- 700 and connected the XBox directly to my DSL modem and WA-LA! My problems were resolved. Well, not exactly, I don't want to be donig that everytime I play XBox. I need my computer and the XBox to be on that router. My router doesn't recognize the XBox as a device connected to the network. Does anybody have any idea what is happening here? I went through all the settings but nothing I did helped. I would like to play my XBox live games error free. Thanks! | |||

| Make sure your IP on the Xbox is within the valid range of the MN-700 (192.168.2.2-and up) and that you're using the proper Gateway (which is the router, not your ISP's gateway). -- Chris H. | Thanks for the reply Chris. I will definately try that tonight assuming that those configurations are to be done on the XBox, right? Someone else suggested that maybe the bandwith on the router was restricted. Is that possible? And if so, how can I assure that the bandwith is wide enough for XBox Live? Thanks again! >-----Original Message----- >Make sure your IP on the Xbox is within the valid range of the MN-700 >(192.168.2.2-and up) and that you're using the proper Gateway (which is the >router, not your ISP's gateway). >-- >Chris H. >Microsoft Windows MVP >Associate Expert >Expert Zone - www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/expertzone > >"Oscar" <anonymous@discussions.microsoft.com> wrote in message >news:16c901c3fbc4$95de6e10$a001280a@phx.gbl... >>I have been experiencing these problems for a long period >> of time. | Bandwidth is whatever you've subscribed to through your ISP, such as 768/128 on DSL. That said, if you are sharing with two family members who are separately running streaming video at the same time you're playing Live!, you're not going to come close to 128 up. And 128 up is plenty for Xbox. All your networking settings must be done on the Xbox interface itself, so if you haven't looked into that area it could be the problem. Make sure to follow the instructions precisely from here: http://www.xbox.com/en-US/live/connect/choose.htm -- Chris H. | To original poster: If your using a wireless base station from microsoft, and thats what it seems like from the MN-700, then make sure that it's set on Infrastrusture mode, and not to your wireless channel, that happened to us and we couldn't play at all. Secondly, make sure that it shows up on the base station management tool, that the XBOX is connected. It will show as an IP and a blank name with a mac address beside it. Hope that helps.
