| Hi, I can't seem to be able to get connected to Live using a new router I just bought, the Netgear DG834G. I connected fine before using an old cheapo router but ideally want to use the XBox with a wireless bridge which I should be getting next week. However, i'm just using a regular CAT5 cable right now and wondered if anyone could talk me through setting it up. Thanks Dene | |||

The netgear website should be able to give you some pointers. I now have my xbox connected to live using a linksys WGA54G wireless games adapter. Kind Regards Mike

Thanks for replying! Looking forward to getting my Wireless Bridge tomorrow and finally get rid of the 20 metre CAT5 cable! Cheers Dene

I use the DG824M and the ME101 bridge, and I've never had to open any ports although I do get the occassional dropout. Would open these ports make any difference whatsoever? What is recommended.

Checked the XBOX website, there should be no need to use port forwarding as long as NAT is working properly. Xbconnect is different though.
