| Hi, just wondering if anyone could advise if this would work or not? I have a wireless access point plugged into the same machine as my blueyonder cable modem. This shares internet access with my main computer and also my laptop. I have seen a wireless ethernet bridge on amazon: http://www.amazon.co.uk/exec/obidos/...796980-2046247 and was wondering if anyone thoguht it would work. By my reckoning it should do as it just plugs into the ethernet port as it will just connect to the internet thru the current access point which is set to share the internet connection. Obviously, it's not cheap so I dont want to buy it and then find out that it's no good for the job. Many thanks for anyone who replies. Nick Foxall. | |||

| What make is your wireless access point? I use a Netgear wireless router and ethernet bridge without too many problems. plus check the with xbox.xom about whether your access point is supported. (my router isn't mentioned on the site, but seems to work). rollasoc "Nick Foxall" <mail@nickf.co.uk> wrote in message news:9cc03604.0311060213.2e937738@posting.google.c om... > Hi, just wondering if anyone could advise if this would work or not? > > I have a wireless access point plugged into the same machine as my > blueyonder cable modem. | I use the WET11 on my Xbox and it works flawlessly. The only problem was that my PC was unable to connect to it in order to update the firmware but I suspect it had something to do with an IP address conflict with another PC. I gave up on installing the firmware and just plugged it into the xbox and it worked fine. I have a netgear wireless router, the MR814. IMO, the netgear stuff is better as they have far superiour support (24/7 tech support in Australia as well as a comprehensive knowledge base, how tos and email technical support). Linksys on the other hand in Australia have no tech support and there databasee online is very poor but it may be different in other countries (or phone support at least).
