xbox communicator

Ok... So, I've broken my communicator. I went out and bought the MadKatz
replacement. MAJOR CRAP!! Lost of noise and static!! I head you could use
cell phone headset...so off to best buy and bought a cell headset....still
crap...but not as bad as the Madkatz!! Does anyone know of a specific brand
of cell headset that works with xbox live. and does it matter what cellphone
it was made for (does it have to be for a Nokia or AT&T or other brand? I
need my live experience NOW!! not when MS can send me a replacement.
Does anyone know when MS plans to release the replacement headset I've read
about?

I bought a radio shack one for about $10 and it works fine. I also tried
the ear bud one that came with my nokia phone and it didn't work at all.
The headset unit that plugs into the controller has a raised ring around it
which kind of recesses the input. Make sure that your headset plug fits
inside this ring or the headset might not be inserted all of the way and not
work properly. My radio shack headset has plastic around the base of the
plug that interferes with the ring so I had to trim it away with a knife.
Hope this makes sense.

I think MS is going to start selling headsets for 20$ each

I'm planing to make or get a converter so I can use the standard PC
connections so I can take my pick of headsets, check out the headsets they
have.

Hey, I was in Best Buy yesterday (Northeast Ohio), and there were quite a
few on the shelf. The package has the module and the communicator for
$29.99. They have yet to update the website, so no link is available.
