newbie question

I have played 3v3 in NFL 2k3 they only had one head set so i only talked to
the one guy. Im not sure if you can all talk at the same time but you can
buy 4 xbox live starter kits and try it or the 3 other people can yell into
your headset.

That will work for sports games as all players appear on a single screen.

Other games like usually have split screen like Mechassault, or single
player like Wolfenstein. Most games will be split screen or single. As of
right now I believe only sports games can offer 4 on 4. That's any
combination of 4 gamertags or guests.

Looking forward to Halo 2, as long as the Live is like Halo's System-Link
option.
4 player split screen, combination of tags and guests would be great.
My g/f and I have a tag each, but would be great to have 2 guests join us,
then play as a team of 4 against another team of 4 on Live.

Also can work in Unreal Championship
But it is laggy with more than two.
