Default poor signals in UK

My freind and I live approx 30 miles away and use the same service provider

however, in Xbox Live we cannot hear each other speak but the rest of the
world can!

In Midnight Club 2, I can race araound but on my mates screen, I'm stood
still.

If I set up my own game, checking the signal meter in MC2 I appear to my
mate to only have
1 bar as opposed to people in the US with 3, sometimes 4

Any ideas why we should have such a poor signal? I play against some Scots
who have
full 5 bars regularly, so it must be a setting or conflict somewhere??

Any ideas teccie heads out there ?

thanks

Mark

You don't by anychance use BT do you?

I have noticed this with my mates, the ones who use BT as their ADSL service
provider cannot always hear each other.

I think its just something you have to live with tbh.

Do you think NTL is a better way to go?

There's your problem.. BT isn't exactly a fan of xbox live for some reason
and if you ring them up to ask for assistance they just say "BT Openworld
does not support xbox live", and thats it.

You'd probably be better changing to another ADSL company.

None of the people I know who use BT have had any kind of problem with Xbox
live. I suggest that you look elsewhere for the source of the problem.

And just hope they don't because you won't get anywhere with BT if they
develop problems.
