| 360 is 9 months old. No crashes in games at all (odd lockup in friends list or XBLA list) until now (Forza 2) Big problems with textures streaming in Nurburgring. (Not too worried about this) BUT have had 2 of the blocky screen with screeching noise type of crash (both in Forza2) Don't wanbt to replace my (until now) reliable box with a lemon, but if it's on it's way out.... Its likely that the game has exposed problems within your 360 that were not obvious before. You probably have a fault that has always been there but only noticeable now with a game that pushes the system more. I had a similar problem with my original 360. It was a problem only noticeable when using VGA connection and only in one game. I had a bit of a time dealing with Gamestation for a replacement because they could not reproduce the problem on their TV. But after about 30 minutes of explaining I had tried it on two seperate monitors, two seperate cables and two copies of the game, they finally gave in and exchanged it. They weren't nasty, they just could not get their head round their being a problem because they could not see it. If it were me with your 360, I would take it in for a replacement. It may not be a problem with other games, but if it does get worse you may end up with a dead 360 out of warranty. | |||

Actually in addition to my other post, I think you should try a replacement disc first. Its also possible you simply have a faulty game disc. Try a second disc and if theres still a problem, take it in.

Just had another two blocky screen type of lock ups (definately hardware fault?). No problems with any other game ever. Does Forza really push the hardware beyond breaking point?

Switched off and back on and got the dreaded red light (only 1 though, bottom right sector) and error code 74. Tried changing the video cable but no joy. An original launch machine so no warranty for me. Looks like the failure rate might higher than MS is prepared to admit as that's now 5 of the people I play on line with have had a similar fate. Its not a case of a game pushing a console to breaking point, its that problems already exist, but because some games require lesser power, problems are overlooked.

MS must have tested it as it's a 1st party game. I've got a Samsung drive in mine. When the game arrives I'll let you know if I get any problems.
