Connect360 (Mac) - any good?

Hi all,
I'm probably going to buy a 360 of my very own soon, and I'd like to be
able to play music from my Mac whilst playing. I stumbled over

wondering if anyone would recommend it, or if there's a free
alternative.

Microsoft really should release a client of their own for this.

I've been using Connect 360 since the public betas, it works well. The only
thing that doesn't work that I've been badgering them about for a while is it
won't stream iTMS purchases to the 360. It's handy though to be able to
stream most of my iTunes library for use in-game. AAC files work for
streaming as long as they're not DRM protected.

The photo slideshows I have used, and they work okay - look good on HTDV as
well. As for the video streaming - I think that's a bit meh - but it works. I
just don't use that part of it.

There's a demo available to see how it works for you (or at least, there used
to be).

Thanks for the input, iTMS music doesn't bother me since I don't use
the store (would rather have the CD for me to whatever I please with),
and I'm not bothered about photos or videos (I keep my MacBook
connected to my TV via HDMI for plaing video etc).

Sounds like it could be well worth £10 so that I don't have to have my
PC index the music on my Mac so that the Xbox can play the Mac's music
via the PC! :-)

One last question: Once you install it, does the Mac appear on Windows
Vista PCs as a media share?

I have no idea. I don't have any Microsoft(R) Windows(TM) operating systems
in the house so I can't answer. It does appear in the same place on the 360
where you'd expect to find such things.
