Default xbox 360 messing about

Okay I was loading the the halo 3 beta when all of a sudden I get this mesh
kind of overlay on the screen and the machine locks up.

I switched off the on again and had the three red lights of death.

Shat meself, switched off and on again and the 360 fired up.

Then playing Gears of War single player same mesh overlay then freeze up.
Although no red lights that time.

Anyone else had this kind of mesh overlay on the graphics, then freezing?

Is my 360 knackered? Or is this a known thing?

Cheers.

Yep, connections on the GPU, apparently due to the heating and cooling of
the system and the X shaped clip that holds the heat sinks down on the board
causing apparent flexing, the chip has many a dry joint to the system board.

Have a google for 3 red light fix, or get the unit replaced.

Thanks for that. Stupid thing is getting worse, but luckily still in
warranty.

I Should be changing it tomorrow for a new one, although I'm not that
confident in the 360's robustness now, this unit has had very light use and
is only seven months old!
