Halo 3 Beta Video

I thought it was Vista Halo 2 until I saw the personal shields. I am soooo
****ing glad there are no fanboys in here who are going to get upset when I
declare this as looking

Ok, I will bite. Yes. Yes you are right. If the graphics are poor and look
like 3 year old models, it doesn't mean it won't be a fun game, I had a lot
of laughs on Halo 2 online, and will be buying 3 for the same reason.

So, its looks **** and out of date before it even hits the shelf - but that
doesn't mean it won't be a good game, but in single player, I expect COD4 to
wipe to floor with it.

It's still early days with the graphics and personally I couldn't draw any
conclusions from some low res leaked footage. Halo looked pretty good to
me, Halo 2 was a super improvement visually and I can't believe we won't see
a good looking game this year. The strength of the game is the gameplay and
the way they use Live and I hope that's where they have their focus.

After Halo 2 I'm worried about single-player, but it has to be better,
doesn't it?

How can you tell from a low res video where the guy is running around
like a headless chicken? As it's Beta perhaps they aren't using the
latest graphics engine, ie the beta is more to test gameplay & ip
stacks etc.

Every video I have seen of Halo 3 (including the official ones on Bungie)
just don't impress me at the moment, it looks more like Halo 2.5. So, I will
stand by my original statements, at the moment, in my opinion, the game
looks like it could have made the 360 launch in terms of pushing the
hardware to its technical limíts (which is why it will be 24 months late)
and graphically similar to Halo 2 so much so that it could be an Xbox 1
game, albeit on a poor quality video.

Elsewhere in this thread I have clarified that this does not bode for a poor
game, and I will give it a fair chance on release/beta, however, the
prospect of a new COD game in a new timeline with the original developer is
far far far more appealing.

I don't understand why you think the game is 2 years late. Development
started after Halo 2 and there is no way on earth they would have met the
360 launch date, nor was there any compelling need to do so.

Halo 3 hardware attach rate - 0.0

Graphical Impression of the title so far - could have been done 2 years ago.

From what I've seen it looks perfectly acceptable. However there's no point
judging it now because it will look different later this year upon release.
BTW they haven't announced a release date.
