Default HD newbie questions...

Hi all,

I've got a Pioneer PDP504HDE plasma that supports 720p and 1080i with a
360 connected via component cable. I'm thinking of getting a 360 HD DVD
addon drive, but am unsure because all of the HD DVDs I look at say
Video: 1080p. Given that my TV doesn't support 1080p - what will happen?
Will it downscale to 1080i or 720p automatically?

Thanks for helping a n00b!

steve

It'll downscale. I think the 360 just outputs at your currently
selected resolution, rather than relying on the telly to do it.

Some of the films I watched on mine were 1080p encoded (Superman
Returns for instance) and they all worked fine on my 720p/1080i
plasma.
