If it locks on download, unplug it and plug it in and then restart the download, it will still load the old firmware as normal, so far my Wii has stuck about 3-4 times, unplugging it and plugging it in again has not caused me any grief, the next time I tried the download it worked fine. | ||

I've downloaded all updates, two VC games, the internet and weather channels no problem at all. My wii doesn't like news. | ||

Strange, not experience a complete failure in download, tends to download fine fine on the 2nd attempt.. although I would still plug away at it... mind you if another update comes out you may find it downloads in that, as I think the updates are "just updates" not "news update specific"... let me know if you have any success...
