| Just curious what current news, or expected upcoming news announcements, regarding the PS3 are good news? I am trying to hunt down some positive stuff. It gets tiring hear the negativity over and over. Anyhow, outside of Sony Home, anyone have any other good news? - The Rich | |||

I agree, PS3 is a great console and there is plenty to like! Motorstorm, Resistance, Virtua Fighter 5, Tekken DR, Oblivion, FIght Night, and NBA Street are great games that look awesome at 1080P and 780P. Flow and Super Rub-a-dub (in spite of getting bad IGN and Gamespot reviews) are getting great user reviews. If you aren't satisfied with the current lineup of games, their will be plenty of good stuff coming out in the future like Ninja Gaiden, Metal Gear Solid 4, DMC 4, etc. In the mean time, you can use your PS3 to play some bitchin classics like God of War (1 and 2), Champions of Norath, Rogue Galaxy, FFX, Shadow Hearts Covenant and New World, Black, XIII, Shadow of the Colossus, Kingdon Hearts, and Metal Gear Solid 1,2 and 3. Oh, I forgot to mention Katamary Damacy! Almost all of the games I mentioned above are Playstation exclusive. The PS3 is also a great Blue Ray player. Get yourself a Netflix account and have Blue Ray delivered in the mail. Casino Royal is a must see on Blue Ray. Do yourself a favor and don't read all the bad press on the PS3, it's almost all generated by people that don't have a PS3. As far as I'm concerned, the only negative about the PS3 is the shortfall of games but they did manage to get some great ones out very early like Tekken, Virtua Fighter, Motorstorm and Resistance. All consoles will have a small library out the frst year so also consider what you can play from the PS2 library. As for the price, it's not a negative to me since the whole reason for going to a PS3 was for the next gen experience, which means I also spent $2300 on a 1080P tv as well. I don't have a single regret. Notice I haven't ragged on the 360 at all. I don't own one, my personal reason is because a large majority of it's games can be played on the PC. I had the same issue with the original XBox, but did get one for my son and he plays it all the time while I spend a lot of time with our PS2 and Dreamcast (Skies of Arcadia, Grandia 2 and Record of lodoss War). So, different strokes for different folks. If you can afford it, get one of everything. Enjoy! -yukon -- --------------------------------- --- -- - Posted with NewsLeecher v3.5 Beta 10 Web @ http://www.newsleecher.com/?usenet ------------------- ----- ---- -- -

Anyhow, I just wanted to see some positive fan news for the PS3, to get some balance. While I have a Wii and a 360, I really would like to see positive stuff for the PS3 itself, rather than dorky high def movie format wars and 360 bashing. Some positive helps. - The Rich

I guess you did a croosover and started mentioning the classics, which look like PS2 titles. I am personally concerned what will happened with backwards compatibility when Sony drops the EE CPU from all PS3 systems eventually (like they have done in Europe). I guess part of my interest now was to see what the PS3 itself alone would have as positive news centering around it, not focused on BluRay. > The PS3 is also a great Blue Ray player. Also, I see a price issue here. For $600 it needs to be that much better for me. I am awaiting news on this, and awaiting VF5 for the 360 late summer. > Notice I haven't ragged on the 360 at all. Comments where people should get second jobs to buy a PS3, saying it is underpriced, and also saying that 5 million would sell without any games. And has it really shown itself graphicwise to be better than the 360? All these together cause it to get ripped by the press and media. Myself, the 360 is where I do gaming now, because my rig is too old, and I am tired of the whole upgrade the rig route. Thanks for the message... - The Rich

Sony Home sounds pretty freaking awesome in itself. Some dorks will purchase a PS3 just to run around in a virtua world. GAMES! That's why we purchase these damn consoles for right? n4g.com had a story a week or so ago about 10 reasons the PS3's not too distant future looks very promising and will have MS looking over it's shoulder. I'm too lazy to look it up but here are a few games I myself am looking forward to. Lair Heavenly Sword Ratchet & Clank Uncharted: Drakes Fortune Killzone 2 Tekken 6 GTHD MGS4 Hot Shots Golf 5 (my friends love this game for some reason. My kid does as well) If you don't or didn't own a 360 or XBox: GTA4 Oblivion Ninja Gaiden Sigma Assassins Creed DMC4 Hell most cross platform titles for that matter FNR3 EA Sports and so on.
