| Once again, PS3 proves to be a nosediving disaster. Comparisons with the fate of the 360 there are impending, though there are no excuses for the Pro-Sony crowd this time. Unlike the 360, the PS3 is the latest Playstation - a brand that domiates Japan for 2 generations. Sales of the PS2 reached 1.5 million in under 2 weeks there. Yet the PS3 has not even broken 900k in over 5 months. Developers are abandoning once exclusive projects, instead porting them to a platform that has barely got a foothold in their home territory - the 360. As sales for the Ps3 fall below 15k for the first time in Japan, the prospects are grim. No 1st or 2nd party releases for the platform are scheduled there for a few months, so there are not even the hopes of a lift with a decent killer title. Instead, predictions abound of sub-10k sales by the middle of the summer. With Trusty Bell and Lost ODdysee, along with the Elite being launched for the 360 in Japan over the comming months, it is entirely possible the 360 could obliterate the week-on-week sales for the PS3 for the first time. THe Wii, on the other hand, is fast becomming the star-child of this new generation. Desperate fanboys try to dismiss it's success as being a 'fad' and it's 'just a toy'. However, their dismissals speak volumes of their insecurty. It is next generation in every sense - the only thing it doesnt do is advanced high-resolution graphics. However, in a world where HDTVs are a minority of the TV business, it's not surprising the majority of customers dont care for the more expensive consoles right now. THe Wii will attract the bulk of 3rd party support, and because of the unique and well implemented design of the Wiimote, games will be difficult to move to other platforms as a result. Fun is the name of the game, and Europeans, Japanese and Americans are lapping it up in droves. So while the PS3 has barely SOLD 3 million units in nearly 6 months, the 360 has dramatically increased it's lead, by some 9 million more, at a guess - and the Wii, in the same time frame, has sold more than double the number Sony has managed. Yeah, sure, the Ps3 can be excused for this poor performance, it's more expensive and their are no games -that might abate your doubts fanboys, but the truth is, if a console isn't selling well, it's not selling well. 3rd parties need installed base to make profit, and if they arent getting that, then games go elsewhere. And if games go elsewhere, later down the road whent he Ps3 is cheaper, why would anyone bother if you can only get a handful of exclusives compared to the bredth of content on rival systems? Say goodbye to the Sony brand fanboys, it's going DOWN. http://www.neogaf.com/forum/showpost...&postcount=236 | |||

Blig's not funny... what you need to do is start using f*** every other word and splice in some "retard", "dumbass", "loser", etc. | |||
