PS3s disasterous japanese sales continue, sales drop 4k in a week, PS3 fanboys wail in dispair

Notice how the Ps3 has LOST nearly 4 k sales in just a week - this
trend is worrying for anyone dedicated to seeing Sony become the top
console - but even more worrying given the fact that this trend is
only going to continue!

The Ps3 has NO NEW RELEASES scheduled until AUGUST in Japan.... if
anything, it'll meet the 360's abysmal japanese sales and die!

(Barring unforeseen delays) a slew of games will be coming out by
Christmas time so I think there is enough time to turn things
around...obviously if sales are still anemic by January, then Sony's
got a major problem on their hands...

Do you think the other consoles will just be standing still during this
time? I'm willing to bet that a price cut is on the cards as well.

On one hand, the 360 definitely won't be standing still...a number of
good releases coming up. On the other hand, the Wii looks like it
definitely will be frigid, with nothing of any consequence coming up
and, more importantly, the lack of any significant 3rd party support.
While I would agree PS3 sales at this time are not encouraging, check
the numbers after XMas to see if 'disasterous' would be the right
adjective...

But the thing about the Wii is, it's still being sold out and demand
is far exceeding supply. This means there are still many more
potential Wii buyers out there still waiting for the chance to buy
one. So we may only be seeing the tip of the iceberg of the Wii's
full sales potential, and that's just with the game content it has
now.

1. Only 50k more.
2. With no restrictions on supply whatsoever.
3. No competition? The repeated trolling of Sony fanboys in the months
surrounding the 360 launch proved there was PLENTY to distract people
from the 360.
4. Both are expensive - the $399 of the 360 is hardly a drop in the
ocean.
5. The 360 sold out everywhere until the following May.

console and one game to play a bunch of half-assed high-res movies
that everyone else can enjoy for half the price on a $30 DVD player.
