| Wow...I have had some awesome races recently, reminding me what an incredible game this is. Last night I had a fierce 10 lap duel in the Pro league, at Deep Forest Gateau racetrack. I burn around in a racing Toyota Supra with some extra turbo and things - superb handling. I came in 3rd, the winner was 7 seconds down the road...what a race though. All I really need from GT4 is to be penalised for hitting other cars, ie slowed down or damaged. Imagine the racing as it currently is, but with the added tension and white-knuckle ride of desperately avoiding other cars? GT3? F**king cool! Tom, High Wycombe, UK. | |||

| GT series needs a lot of changing IMO, they need to change it from the real driving simulator to the real RACING simulator (or make a seperate series- i think i'd be happier if they do that. perhaps even split the game into traditional GT mode for tuning cars and Race mode for proper racing, doing away with the crappy arcade mode). It definitely needs more cars on track (i guess ten would be enough for a decent race, that would be enough for 2 or 3 packs), racing rules with flags, accounting for fuel strategy if you have enduros, marbles off the racing line and dirt that gets dragged onto the track actually effecting grip, damage and car physics more alike to codemasters pro race driver, where you can actually roll it and lose wheels. maybe even pit boards instead of flashing times on the HUD! they wouldnt have the pansy "some of the manufacturers dont agree with car damage excuse" if all the cars were race built in any case!! Anyway, I'm starting to tire of the GT series because they seem to be just adding more cars and tracks and not innovating at all, anyway, i wish i was in product development at Polyphony, not only would i kick some asses along but I wanna get a chane to actually test drive a R34 Gtr Nur in real life :-) anything to add to the wishlist for the real racing simulator? | |||

Making a GT game actually react to whether one tire was in the dirt and the rest were still on asphalt would pretty much completely change the gameplay for the better. All three GTs have been almost nothing but more tracks and cars, or in the case of GT3, less tracks and cars, the same exact AI and gameplay of GT2, and prettier graphics. They'll need to at least provide the option for accurate physics and slide mechanics, like F355 has, if they want to continue calling the series a "simulator" of anything. They'll need to have AI that reacts to your car and eachother, again like F355 has. As for more cars on track, I think they've already stated that GT4 will only have 6, down from the other version's 8. Basically, the only thing the series has to offer to date is more cars to drive, and more hours to spend driving them, the actual race gameplay mechanics were out of date for simulations years ago.

From e3 I get the impression they're focusing on multiplayer, not single-player improvements like this. Damn shame.

The Preludes in the GT games handle like Civics anyway, so it's probably for the best.

Damn shame. Major shame if that's the case. If it's one of those, "connect and download the latest car" type things that happens on PC occasionally I'll be most upset. AndyC (the other one).

GT has always been the best console pure 1-player racng game, still nothing else as good (or even close in my opinion). So I want it to continue being that great driving game. I couldn't care less about online play.
