The final final battle with Cyrus takes place with him in 3 forms. The first form: Hit him in the head. Spells are mostly ineffective. When he swipes at you, ROLL. The second form: (easiest) hit him in the tail. Large spells will work. Run to the "edge" so you can charge your magic up. Watch out for the ice spikes he conjures. Roll to avoid them, or they WILL kill you! The third form: (reminds me of M&Ms) More large spells should works, but again, whacking him directly is more effective. I gave up with Lani due to her low health and physical attack power, and replayed as...er...what's-her-face, the fighter girl. MUCH easier. > Alternatively, what comes after it? (Maybe try and get > Dynasty Warriors since it's said to be the same genre but better, > though I have to say I highly recommend Mystic Heroes for everything > except this last battle.) It's just the end of the game. Cyrus explodes, or whatever, the little dragon thingie thanks you and goes home, credits roll. Mystic Warriors really plays like Dynasty Warriors Jr. - and not just because the characters look like little kids. Dynasty Warriors is based on the Romance Of The Three Kingdoms novel that is a fanciful retelling of the three kingdoms fighting to unite all of China. You can play as many different generals for the 3 sides, each with slightly different story modes (many share common battles, but sometimes you're fighting on different sides - gives you a different perspective.) While the games share some gameplay elements, they're very different from one another. For one thing, in DW, generals don't retreat - they die. Don't let that happen if you can avoid it games as it is in MW. DW4 is the first game to introduce magic really. Otherwise, you had to get the secret 4th or 5th weapons for each character to get access to "magic" (which is just a normal attack.) I'd strongly reccomend DW3 and its expansion disc. The expansion lets you play the original characters and scenarios with the enhancements and items you can get from the expansion disc. The expansion disc also adds additional characters and story modes for them, such as Lu Bu, who was only playable in "Free Mode" under the original DW3. There's also a DW4, but I haven't tried it yet. It seems to make a lot changes from DW3/EL.

| I'm stuck on some level in a massive temple that goes round and round and round, when I get to the top there's a teleport area that I cannot jump over but if I touch it, I get transported back down to the bottom, can anyone help? WHAT DO I DO?!?!?!??! Come on let's go....... | |||

WHAT DO I DO?!?!?!??! You mean the big tower with the spiral stairs running up the inside? Look for places where the wall is weak enough to break and let you outside, I think there are three such. Outside each one you'll find a generator device, smash all the generators and the teleporter is turned off. -- "Sore wa himitsu desu." Hmm, I tried swiping at him but I mostly hit empty air and at that close range I'm more vulnerable to getting whacked, so spells still seem more effective. Is there a trick for physically hitting him that doesn't involve him moving away as I swing so I just hit the air? >The second form: (easiest) hit him in the tail. That doesn't seem to work, though target spell does. Ice spikes? You mean the things that look like pineapple helicopters? *scratches head* Umm, they keep coming for such a long time that they inevitably get in at least one hit per wave no matter how much I roll. WHAT DO I DO?!?!?!??! > Come on let's go....... Ah, yeah, that place. As you're running up the ramp that goes round and round, keep and eye on the outside wall. There are 3 places that you can break through and run around on the roof. On each of these places is a blue orb you can break as well as an item (so run around the entire roof.) The blue orb is in the mouth of one of the dragon ornaments on the edge of the roof. .. .. .. .. .. .. bit of a spoiler .. .. .. .. .. .. About 2/3rds of the way up, you'll see a platform off in the middle, just hanging in space. Go above it, and drop onto it. There's a rune there.

Is there a trick for physically hitting him that > doesn't involve him moving away as I swing so I just hit the air? With Lani, it's really hard, due to her extremely short reach. What I ended up doing was jumping, doing a jump-spell which propelled her further into the air, and then I bonked him on the head on the way down. The other girl was able to actually jump onto his head and go to town, but Lani doesn't seem able to do this. >>The second form: (easiest) hit him in the tail. He casts this one spell which forms a wispy white ball "under" the ground, which then sprouts these ice spikes that will try to impale you. If you stand still, they'll nail you. Rolling seems to help a lot. > Umm, they keep coming for such a long time that they inevitably get in > at least one hit per wave no matter how much I roll. Is there a trick > for avoiding them? I don't remember how I dealt with those... I think you can attack them when they're close by (spells work well.) Anyways, just run up as close to his center as possible, and hit him. You'll probably only get one hit in per time, so be paitent. >>The third form: (reminds me of M&Ms) More large spells should works, but >>again, whacking him directly is more effective. > M&Ms? You'll know what I'm talking about when you see it. The little balls/discs that made up his body in the earlier forms can now materialize around you and attack you. Spells are effective in taking these out, but you still need to hit him directly to do any damage. Again, you have to run up really close to him to do any damage. I think that's everything... I was going to take Lani back through the stages to get her health and physical attack pumped up even more, since that's where she's pretty weak. At least, that's what I'll do one day.

Success! I used Shiga, who can't jump on the guy's head but is better at whacking him in the chest than Lani is (and is a bit less disconcertingly odd than the other one stage with full mana reserve and little damage accordingly, then dumped my mana into a continuous stream of target spells for the most dangerous second stage. >You'll know what I'm talking about when you see it. I wasn't expecting to actually pull it off this evening but for the final stretch you can actually target-recharge-target-recharge fast enough to mostly prevent him from firing at you.
