You'll notice there's also a lot of movies with car chases set in San Francisco, too. It's the hills, baby! San Franciso's a great city to drive in. ....word is bondage...

Especially for a multi billion usd industry. Not as close as, say, LA, but much closer than, say, dallas or boston or New York or detroit. (Which is closer, SF or Phoenix? And how big is Phoenix?)

Hmmm, by the time we get to comparing universes the two cities might actually occupy the same space (and the laws of physics be damned). > Not as close as, say, LA, but much closer than, say, dallas or boston Hollywood is North of LA so it is actually closer then LA to SF by a few miles. (OK, I admit it, I'm nitpicking) > (Which is closer, SF or Phoenix? And how big is Phoenix?) > Since my point of reference is SF I can't say for sure but I believe that Phoenix is closer to LA then SF is to LA.
